Welcome. We tell stories with images.

Words

Words are powerful; they express new ideas and concepts. From elementary classrooms to trial courtrooms, words tell stories.

Images

Images are powerful too; they express new ideas and concepts. But they need to be used more. Images also tell stories.

Words + Images

This site believes that more emphasis on images to narrate stories helps students learn and comprehend better. Text in the classrooms and visual storytelling here.

Turtles All The Way Down

I attempt to highlight scenes in John Green’s novel Turtles All The Way Down through AI-inspired visual images.

About This Site

This website was started as a project while pursuing my MA in English. In full transparency, I am still pursuing this. But I did this for my Summer 2024 course Technologies of Writing.

As a previous high school English teacher, I taught young adult literature and the classics at a local high school in Texas. After being inspired and learning about different multimodal writing and communication techniques during this class, I wanted to create a public forum for teachers and students to use visual images to narrate commonly used text nationwide in high school English classrooms.

My ambition is for it to grow to be a database of “sophisticated picture books” to be utilized by both teachers and students to help them better learn and comprehend the text they see throughout their high school careers.

Note: In order to track usage, this website has tracking code that lets us know how many people are accessing each page and for how long.
